Citizen Action
By: Adam Andrzejewski

Abe Lincoln at Gettysburg said that we are a government by, of, and for… the people.  Ronald Reagan extended Lincoln’s logic and he said, “…that government works the best when the people work on it.”

In my good government travels across Illinois, I have met many good people.  They believed, I believed and we proved that good government can happen in Illinois. We can reverse the reputation of our Illinois.

Here is just a few examples of people who have spearheaded our movement in Illinois.

For example:  Elmhurst School District 205 posted their check register and was positively featured in the local newspapers.  Chris Healy on the Elmhurst Park Board decided to follow suit-  before being asked by citizens.

Chris Healy is serving Elmhurst in the true spirit of public service.  He is committed to transparent and good local government.  On the Elmhurst Park Board, he spearheaded the posting of the check register online, demonstrating respect to the taxpayer.  The Elmhurst Park District became one of the first financially transparent park districts in Illinois.  In April, Chris Healy is running for alderman.  Based on his previous actions, the voters of the 5th ward would be well served by public policy that Chris Healy advocates.

For example:  Mark Dobrzycki founded the Harwood Heights Chamber of Commerce and he currently sits on the village council as a trustee.  I met Mark when I addressed his Chamber of Commerce about the lack of transparency at Ridgewood d234.

Mark Dobrzycki serves Harwood Heights in the true spirit of public service.  He is committed to transparent and good local government.  As Harwood Heights Village trustee, he spearheaded many good government initiatives that demonstrate respect to the local taxpayer.  As founder of the Harwood Heights Chamber of Commerce, Mark Dobrzycki has demonstrated that he will volunteer for the betterment of his Village!  Mark Dobrzycki has a self-evident record of true service to his community.

Soon, the citizens of Harwood Heights will have the opportunity to elect Mark Dobrzycki as Mayor.  Mark will implement financially transparency and show taxpayers exactly where public money is being spent.  Mark Dobrzycki has purpose, leadership and direction.  Mark is working hard and diligently to create good government in Harwood Heights. Dobrzycki’s transparency resolution would post all spending on the village website at absolutely no cost to local taxpayers.  That’s good government!

For example:  I met Kory Atkinson during my work with the College of DuPage Board of Trustees.  In Roselle, Kory is now running unopposed for village trustee.

Kory Atkinson has served on the College of DuPage (COD) Board of Trustees in the true spirit of public service.  He endorsed, advocated and helped implement 100% financial transparency of the operating budget.  COD became the largest unit of Illinois government to show taxpayers where every penny of operating budget was being spent.  I commend Kory Atkinson on his purpose, direction and leadership.  As a village trustee, he will spearhead many good government initiatives that demonstrate respect to the local taxpayer.

There are many other examples across Illinois of people of good-will who believe that Illinois can have good government.

We deserve better!

For The Good Of Illinois.
