Last night, our openthebooks.com story went on national conservative talk radio. The third largest conservative talk radio program had me on in the third hour. Savage was very complimentary. It’s an informative and news breaking interview.

The information at Openthebooks.com is breaking national news stories.

Not only is the second highest pension in Illinois teacher retirement history ($20,200/month) paid to the former President of the NEA (teachers union), Washington D.C., but we’ve also broke the story that another 33 union elites drain $338,000 per month of pension from TRS. Click here to read our post.

The Tribune covered the City of Chicago angle. This is the state level angle and it’s much bigger.

We have an opportunity here to drive and champion a 90% issue- the transparency of public spending. It’s important because it defends taxpayers, hard working families, small business owners and also the hard working rank-and-file government worker from insider access to sweetheart pension deals. Those sweetheart deals are draining the pension systems.

Openthebooks.com has rendered over 30,000 users and 350,000 pageviews since the launch. It’s super hot. People are hungry for the insider information.

Does that mean that you are going to work to do away with pensions for all state senators and all state representatives, the governor, all employees, and all publlic officials? That would be a very fair thing to do. Then everyone would be responsible for their own pensions, and the state income taxes could be decreased or stopped. Thank you

At a minimum Mrs. J, government pensions should be for government workers. Let’s end the sweetheart access to the government pension systems from non-governmental entities.

A fair wage that generates a fair pension…wouldn’t that be the admirable goal?

A referendum needs to be presented to Illinois citizens regarding the extreme salaries and pensions doled out to these career politicians…Term limit laws…limited salaries and very limited pensions..no double dipping collecting two pensions from the state….This corrupted mode of operation by politicians one of the reasons Illinois is bankrupting.
