Great interview … Andrew sounds very reasonable and knowledgeable.

Great interview and good job Adam but…no word of the work by the IL TEA Parties or the IL 912 Groups that worked endlessly to get him elected, donated to all like Sam McCann, Bobby Schilling, Joe Walsh and knocked on doors to get local, state and federal candidates in their seats they presently hold. While we all worked together, I am not aware of “For the Good of IL” being an active PAC at that point. Could be wrong but…

Thank you for the compliment. I felt it was a good interview, as well.

The question you reference was an interesting one. Dane Placko asked, “Why did the Republican tide, that swept throughout the nation last year, that changed a lot of houses and a lot of states, why didn’t that have a lot of impact here in Illinois?” The question was basically- “what went wrong” in Illinois. Obviously, the serious commitment of the tea party represented what went right.

Therefore, I gave my opinion on the lack of Republican party competition in open seats. Then I pivoted to the effort of For The Good of Illinois PAC. The PAC was in on four races- McCann vs. Sen. Demuzio, defending incumbent state Senator Kyle McCarter, Dwight Kay vs. Rep. Jay Hoffman and Cedra Crenshaw vs. Sen. AJ Wilhelmi. We spent much personal time, effort, energy and gave $tens of thousands. All the candidates were very appreciative and three of four won.

The show moves very fast. When given more time, I explain the “model”. The winning model is freedom and liberty groups with the passion and energy; the establishment and structure of the in-district Republicans embracing reform; a reform message and policy articulated by the candidate; and business men/women funding the whole. That’s the winning model.

McCarter, McCann, Kay prove that model. My PAC was happy to be a part of the model. And the model only works with tea party energy.
