One of the big items of discussion in Illinois right now is the move to shift the responsibility for school district pensions back to the local districts, ending the practice of sloughing off billions of local pension liability onto state taxpayers.
We think the pension shift is a good idea, but there is one big catch. It’s important that every Illinois property owner knows the impact on this will have on their property taxes absent a hardened, ironclad cap on school district spending.
Send it to your friends.
This will become one of the biggest issues in the next legislative session. Get prepared for the fight to freeze, cap and eventually cut your property taxes.
